Ok, so we took a trip to Florida again and this time I found some dwarf seahorses!!!
One of the males we collected was "pregnant" and this morning he gave birth to about 20 young. This is a video of the birth, it is a bit long but well worth the watch!
Collecting Fish in Florida
We took a trip to the indian river lagoon and collected fish just inside the Sebastian Inlet. We found 2 species of seahorse, 4 species of pipefish, 2 species of file fish, trunkfish, flounder, sargasso fish, gobies, blennies, shrimp and crabs. We used aquarium nets since you are not allowed to use a seine net unless you have a commercial licence. We had our recreational licences and made sure not to collect any of the prohibited species. No stony corals, no fire corals or seafans.
